The 64th National Film Awards were announced last month, headed by prominent filmmaker Priyadarshan. Films like Rustom, Airlift, Pink and Neerja won the awards. Twitteratis went crazy when the award was conferred to Akshay Kumar for his performance in Rustom and questioned the jury members’ credibility. Rajkummar Rao’s Trapped was also in the nominated categories but failed to win any award.

At a recent interview, Rajkummar admitted that he was dejected when Trapped didn’t win any National Award. He said, "Yes, I felt sad when 'Trapped' didn't win any National Award. 'Trapped' was submitted in 2016 for the National Award." The movie starred Rajkummar Rao, whose character is shut in an uninhabited Mumbai apartment. It was shot in less than a month in Mumbai in 2016.

The queen actor has earlier won a National award for his performance in a biographical film, Shahid, based on the life of lawyer and human rights activist Shahid Azmi, who was assassinated in 2010 in Mumbai. The phenomenal actor will be next seen in Ajay K Pannalal’s Behen Hogi Teri along with Shruti Haasan. The movie is scheduled for a release on June 9.
