Tiger Shroff wants to go higher than his father Jackie Shroff

Actor Jackie Shroff defined the quintessential hero image for Bollywood in 1980s and 1990s. And now, his son actor Tiger Shroff, who has gained popularity among the youth, aims at surpassing the fame that his father has garnered.

“I really respect my father a lot and I want to go much higher than what he has achieved. I want to take my father’s name forward. I want to reach a level where only handful people have reached— like my idol Michael Jackson and Bruce Lee. Every kid in every corner of the world knows who Michael Jackson is and I want to reach that level. That is my ultimate goal,” says Tiger, whose action and dancing prowess has already got him a set of loyal fans in Bollywood.

The actor, who made his Bollywood debut with Heropanti (2014), however, admits that to shed the ‘star kid’ image has been the toughest task for him so far.

“ I think, my father is such a big personality in the industry, and to come out of his shadow and create my own niche, audience, and identity has been tough for me,” he adds.

From working in commercial hits to recently becoming the brand ambassador of a kid’s television show, Tiger has shot to fame in no time, but he wants people to understand that being an actor’s son is not as easy as it may appear to the outside world.

“People have to realise that there is double pressure on us (star kids) and we have to do things exactly as everyone else does. On top of that, we get noticed easily because we a have a legacy behind us. When lights go off in the cinema, your father or mother is not holding your hand. It’s only you who has to take the legacy forward. I believe, if good work comes your way and you are talented, then you will definitely get the exposure,” he says.
