“He stayed back for my close ups just to give me cues." - Tiger Zinda Hai’s Azaan On Working With Salman Khan!

It was nothing short of a dream come true when actor Paresh Pahuja got to make his Bollywood debut in Salman Khan -starrer Tiger Zinda Hai where he played the role of one of the RAW agents, named Azaan. While there definitely would have been excitement to work with the star, the actor says he was “nervous” too.

“When I got this film, I had very mixed emotions. I was obviously thrilled but nervous too. I’ve revered him [Salman] all my life. But that equation really helped me play Azaan. I’m the youngest one in the team, so the way Azaan [my character] was in front of Tiger [Salman’s character], it was exactly how I am in front of Salman sir in real life,” says Paresh, adding that he always used to daydream about working with Salman while watching his films in Chandan, a single screen theatre in Mumbai.

Asked if there were moments where Salman helped him get a take right or gave suggestions to do things in a certain way, Paresh says, “He stayed back for my close ups just to give me cues. I mean you’re “The Salman Khan”. He told me a few things about screen acting, which surprised me. Very little changes have such a huge impact on the screen. And he’s very impromptu. So, we used to improvise as well. Salman sir has a great writer inside him and his one-liners are outstanding,” adds Paresh.

The fact that this was Paresh’s debut film, working with a super star like Salman can actually get quite intimidating. However, the actor didn’t really give in to any such thoughts. “You know people tell you thousand things about a person. So, you go with these preconceptions. But Salman sir was so warm and welcoming from day one. He made me feel very comfortable and secure. Not just professionally, but personally, too, he takes care of people better than anyone else. Maybe that’s why he is where he is,” concludes the actor.
