Paan Singh Tomar director Tigmanshu Dhulia’s upcoming film ‘Raagdesh’ is a periodic drama based on the Indian National Army that was revamped by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Starring Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh and Mohit Marwah in the lead roles, the film is about the battle to liberate India that was fought on the shores of the Irrawaddy in Burma. Recently, Dhulia revealed that the trailer of his upcoming venture will be launched in Parliament so as to honour the heroes of the Independence struggle.

“To launch the trailer of Raagdesh in the Parliament honours the heroes of the Independence struggle. It is the first time that Parliament has allowed a trailer launch and that in itself is a big honour for our film”, Dhulia stated in a statement. Touching upon the film’s storyline, the National Award-winning director said, “The Red Fort trial is one of the most interesting and relevant part of our Independence history. And Raagdesh is about that fascinating case”.

Presented by Rajya Sabha TV and bankrolled by Gurdeep Singh Sappal, the movie is scheduled for release on July 28. The complete movie has been canned with a dual camera using Anamorphic lenses. The script of the film was penned following a thorough and extensive research on surviving war heroes, their family members, archives and war memorial data.
