    A legend in the world of singing is no more with us since 1987 but his memories will never go. It was late playback singer Kishore Kumar’s birthday yesterday and the whole industry joined hands to pay tribute to the ace star on his birth anniversary in different forms.

    Some programmes from organizations as well from his alma mater Christian College were arranged to honour the singing idol from their institute. DAVV vice-chancellor, department of higher education officers, registrar, college staff and college students gathered in the college premises and celebrated the day. Tej Prakash Rane quoted, "Cake was cut & orchestra was organised to mark the birth anniversary of musical maestro who studied in our college."

    Kishore has contributed a lot in films as an actor as well as a singer. A huge list of songs is added to his records list and also his filmography starts from 1969 from the flick Roop Tera Mastaana to Saagar Kinaare in 1985. Kishore Kumar had the talent to sing in languages like Bengali, Hindi, Marathi, Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Bhojpuri, Malayalam, Oriya, and Urdu. His singing flair has awarded him 8 Filmfare Awards for Best Male Playback Singer. With this, Kishore Kumar holds the record of having highest number of awards in this category.
