Tubelight trailer: Salman Khan is out there to please everyone in this war drama

Salman Khan is on a winning spree. After back to back blockbusters like Kick, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Sultan, he is once again ready to enthral his fans with Tubelight.

The trailer of the film has been released and it shows why Salman Khan is called the king of box office. Director Kabir Khan’s film seems like a perfect mix of emotions, actions and ‘bhai’ power.

The 2:23 minute long trailer starts with Salman Khan introducing his character, Laxman Singh Bisht, who is nicknamed Tubelight as he seems slightly slower than others. Tubelight is a term used in several parts of India to mock people with lesser than average IQ.

His real life brother, Sohail Khan, plays his reel-life brother and best friend Bharat who joins the Indian Army only to realise the hardships of a soldier’s life.

Then the trailer takes a sudden twist and Bharat goes missing. Nobody other than Laxman believes he can return one day. There unfolds the theme of the film: belief and trust. The film’s punchline ‘kya tumhe yakeen hai’ (do you believe?) arrives at this crucial juncture.

The trailer is definitely interesting and has thematic resemblance with Bajrangi Bhaijaan, maybe because of the same director. But it definitely is intriguing and soulful.

With international markets in the mind, the makers have roped in Chinese actor Zhu Zhu for an important role in the film.

With films like Dangal and Baahubali 2 rewriting history at foreign box offices, Tubelight could be the next money-spinner in the list.

Tubelight will hit the screens on Eid, 2017.
