Twinkle Khanna Is Happy As She Calls Akshay Kumar Her ‘Trophy Husband’

It goes without saying that Akshay Kumar is one of the most desirable actors. However, it took 26 long years of his career for him to get bestowed with a big achievement. The Khiladi of Bollywood received his first National Film Award for ‘Rustom’ from President Pranab Mukherjee at the 64th National Awards, which took place in New Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan.

Well, Akshay’s wife Twinkle Khanna seems to be the happiest on her hubby’s achievement. Earlier, during an episode of the fifth season of ‘Koffee With Karan’, Mrs Funnybones had asked Akshay, “Both my parents (Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia) have won National awards. What have you won?” Recently, the sassy actress tweeted, “So now I can officially refer to him as my trophy husband :) #NationalFilmAwards”.

Akshay shared a picture on Twitter before heading for the awards ceremony. He captioned the picture as, “An important day in my life with the most important people in the world to me, my family #NationalFilmAwards”. Expressing his glee on this big achievement, Akshay told Hindustan Times, “To finally take my last few steps towards the President of India to receive my National Award felt almost unreal. I’ve never felt so light and so humbled at the same time. When one works day in and day out, as I do, something like this isn’t just an honour, it’s a moment in time where everything makes sense. No matter how hard the journey may have been, to stand here now, in front of my family, is the cherry on this almighty cake we call life”.
