Veteran actor Shrivallabh Vyas admitted to ICU, family struggles to pay bills

The veteran character actor Shrivallabh Vyas may not be a very popular name in the film industry, but one cannot forget his brilliant performances inSarfarosh,Satta,Lagaan,Shooland more. Time and again character actors have complained of the inferior treatment meted out to them in the industry as they never get enough respect and support which they deserve. Shrivallabh Vyas, who is presently in the ICU of a hospital, represents this section of ill-treated actors in the industry.

According to one of his close friends, he has been suffering from serious health problems for last four years. The National School of Drama alumnus apparently fainted in the washroom and was found bleeding profusely. He had undergone a surgery following which he suffered a paralytic attack. Due to financial constraints Vyas’ family had to relocate to Jaisalmer from Mumbai. Since then his wife and daughters have been struggling to pay his medical bills.

Vyas’ wife Shobha said while talking to a tabloid, “CINTAA (Cine & T.V Artistes Association) has done nothing for us. When I applied for help, Arun Bali from CINTAA offered a nominal amount of Rs 10,000. I politely declined it as it was too meagre and there was no point in being obligated to anybody for that kind of money.” Meanwhile, Aamir Khan has come forward to help the family in distress. He is also believed to have visited the ailing actor while he was shooting in Jaipur forP.K.. We wish the veteran actor a speedy recovery.
