Veteran Actress Shakila Passes Away At 82

Known for her role in ‘Aar Par’ and ‘CID’, veteran actress Shakila passed away on Wednesday after a massive heart attack. The actress was 82-years old. The news was shared by her nephew Nasirr Khan on Facebook. The funeral was held at the Mahim cemetery in Mumbai today morning.

Nasirr’s post read, “With a heavy heart I have to inform you all that my maternal aunt (my moms older sister) Shakila Aunty has passed away. She was a star in her own right in the 50s and 60s. Babuji dheere chalna, pyaar mein zara samhalna. Please keep her in your prayers. May Allah grant her Jannat . Aameen”.

Shakila made her Bollywood debut with the film ‘Duniya’ which came out in 1949. Since then, she had done more than 40 films in the industry, with her latest film being the 1963 flick ‘Ustadon Ke Ustad’. Our condolences go out to Shakila’s family.
