Vijay 61 leak: Makers Sri Thenandal Films request fans to maintain secrecy

Producers of Tamil superstar Vijay’s forthcoming big budget action entertainer with director Atlee have requested fans to maintain secrecy and not to divulge important elements of the film. On Thursday, a still from the film was leaked online. An official statement from the production house read: “Thalapathy 61 is a big film with a lot of effort taken. With false news and surprise elements being leaked is not good for the film. Request you all to wait for official confirmation from the production house. Lots of surprise elements await Ilayathalapathy fans.”

There were reports doing the rounds that Vijay will be seen playing triple roles, belonging to three different religions--Hindu, Christian and Muslim. Another interesting buzz in the tinsel town is the film’s producers Sri Thenandal Films are in talks with GV Films to acquire the title rights of Mani Ratnam’s yesteryear classic Thalapathy starring Rajinikanth and Mammootty.

Presently, the team is shooting scenes featuring Vijay in Binny Mills, Chennai. “In April, the team will leave to the UK and then to the US to shoot important sequences,” says a source close to the team. The source also adds that AR Rahman is yet to start working on the songs of the film as the composer is busy with two biggies--2.o and Kaatru Veliyidai with Shankar and Mani Ratnam respectively.

The yet-untitled film also has a promising list of actors including Samantha, Nithya Menon, Kajal, SJ Suryah, Sathyaraj and Vadivelu.
