Last seen in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Delhi 6, veteran actor Waheeda Rehman will play a pivotal role in Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam 2, which was recently revived and is slated to hit the screens later this year. In the film, she plays Haasan’s mother and will be seen as a Bharatanatyam dancer. Last time she was seen dancing on screen was in Namkeen over three decades ago.

Apparently, it has been revealed that she will be seen in her younger self from Dev Anand’s Guide, thanks to technology. Her face from her heydays has been morphed with the body of a young Bharatanatyam dancer in the film. It is also believed that she will be seen matching steps alongside Haasan himself who wowed us with his moves from the first part in which he played a Kathak dancer while on a mission.

Earlier this week, Haasan unveiled the first look posters of Vishwaroopam 2. The poster saw an injured Haasan with the national flag flying over his chest. The sequel to the highly successful Vishwaroopam had been lying in cans for nearly two years. Written and directed by Haasan himself, the film also stars Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah, Rahul Bose and Shekhar Kapur in pivotal roles. The film will explore the mother-son sentiment between Haasan and Waheeda Rahman.
