Was Aamir Khan offered role of a villain by Dibakar?

As Dibakar Banerjee’s Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! is nearing its release date, some interesting news are doing the rounds. If leaked reports are to be believed, Aamir Khan was approached by the Dibakar to play the antagonist in his film. The role was, however, denied by Mr. Perfectionist.

"I was trying to make this film (Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!) about two years ago and at that time I was looking for a villain who can give competition to Byomkesh and can also attract the audience. So, we went to Aamir and gave the narration to him but he passed the film and said 'may be not this one'. Later on I came to know that he is doing Dhoom 3 in a villainous role," Dibakar told a leading English daily during the second trailer launch of the film.

"I think if YRF (Yash Raj Films) gained something, then it lost something as well," he further added. Dibakar has not yet revealed the name of ‘bad man’ in his film hidden. The second trailer only shows the back of the villain.

Crime thriller film Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! is based on the fictional detective of the same name created by the  writer Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. The film starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Anand Tiwari and Swastika Mukherjee, is all set to hit the screens on April 3.
