When I asked for this role, Anurag said he’d get back to me later, says Ranbir on Bombay Velvet role

The countdown period for the release of Bombay Velvet may be far but the film has started to stay in news predominantly. Here’s another story Ranbir told about signing the film. Apparently, director Anurag Kashyap who told Ranbir he’d get back when Ranbir asked him to give this role.

Sounds strange, right? Ranbir revealed that while he read the script and called Anurag, the response he got was pretty strange. Vikas gave me this script and I read it on the plane and called up Anurag and told him that I wanted to do this role. Anurag, on the other hand, felt that I had always done urban characters. He told me he will get back to me in 2-3 days. He called me after a week,” the Rockstar actor said.

Speaking after the second trailer launch of his film, Ranbir said that he believes himself to be as good as the filmmaker. “I am as good as the director. I have always been selfish about working with good directors. Anurag has this reputation of being intense and a rebel but he like a teddy bear,” he added. Bombay Velvet is scheduled to release on May 15.
