Forget Box Office Battle, Ajay Devgn’s Golmaal Again & Vijay’s Mersal Trailer's Are Fighting It Out On Youtube!
If you thought the battle for the biggest box office pie is restricted to the big screens, think again. Film promoters these days are fighting it out on a totally new turf: YouTube, where it is all about the number of views. Case in point: Ajay Devgn ’s Golmaal Again fighting it out with Vijay’s Mersal in the virtual world.
Both the films are releasing around Diwali. While Golmaal Again is scheduled to hit the screens on October 20, Mersal will release two days earlier.
Directed by Rohit Shetty , Golmaal Again boasts of an army of actors including Parineeti Chopra , Arshad Warsi , Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor. And this team is up against the superstardom of Vijay.
Though both the films are of different languages, their success can make a sizeable dent in the other’s prospects.
The credit lines of the two films apart, Golmaal Again is slightly ahead of Mersal in the numbers game on YouTube. The film’s trailer registered more than 15 million views since it was released on September 22, 2017. Mersal, on the other hand, is close behind with 14 million hits. However, Mersal’s teaser released some hours before Golmaal Again’s.
If these figures are any indication, both the films are heading towards impressive opening numbers.
