Why is Karan acting an all time mentor for Sidharth Malhotra?

After having successfully launched him in Student of the Year in 2012, Karan Johar went on to rope Sidharth Malhotra in for ‘Brothers’ alongside Akshay Kumar. Now, even before the shooting of the film could commence, the producer has signed him for another project, apparently a love story. Sidharth Malhotra is one lucky lad to have the backing of a mentor like Karan Johar but as obvious as it sounds, why is Karan so generous for the actor?

Dharma Productions is known for producing new faces, talents and new directors, while Sidharth has already proved he’s an actor of calibre, he just can’t seem to do away with Karan Johar. After his moderately successful Hasee Toh Phasee and thrivingly victorious Ek Villain, people anticipated Sidharth to be an actor of his own choice but the recent proceedings tell an otherwise story. If the procedural events are to be thought of then one would wonder if the actor and director had earlier signed a deal, but with Varun and Alia working independently, it seems Sidharth is the only choice Karan wants to bank on.

The filmmaker has recently signed him for a unique time travelling love story which will be co-produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment. Meanwhile the shooting of Brothers will start pretty soon as soon as the actors find their dates free. Sidharth is currently on a vigorous workout session to acquire the required body for the character.
