Will Amitabh Bachchan Be The Next President Of India?

Politician Amar Singh has recently made a confession that he has left many people happily shocked while the others think it’s just an April Fool's Day joke. Amar Singh, who was some time ago very close to Amitabh Bachchan, has claimed that PM Modi wants to nominate Amitabh Bachchan as the next president of the country in an exclusive interview with Zee News. The report read, “Amar Singh has said that he got to know that 'PM Narendra Modi is planning to propose Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s name for the next President of India”.

However, nothing can be said to be confirmed as of now. Singh has also revealed that he “was the one who introduced Amitabh Bachchan to Narendra Modi (when he was Gujarat CM) in connection with 'Paa' movie”. He added, “After Modi-Bachchan's meeting for 'Paa', Narendra Modi had asked Amitabh Bachchan to become brand ambassdoor of Gujarat”.

Previously, BJP MP and Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha had also suggested Big B’s name for the candidacy. He had said, “It will be a matter of pride if Amitabh Bachchan, a cultural icon, is made president of the country. Amitabh Bachchan has achieved many a milestone in cultural and social fields and if he becomes president, it will fetch a good name for the country”. Pranab Mukherjee had occupied the chair of President on July 25, 2012.
