South Indian Film industry is ever-booming, especially after the release of films like Baahubali and Puli. Not only is the Hindi watching audiences enticed by the South Indian films but also Bollywood filmmakers. Perhaps, that is the reason why Yash Raj Films is keen on tapping into South Indian Film industry.

Yash Raj Films ventured into the industry after having made a Tamil remake of Ranveer-Anushka starrer Band Baaja Baaraat but that failed at the box office. Film producer Ashish Singh of Yash Raj Films said, “The failure certainly doesn’t stop us from doing anything in the future if there’s an opportunity. The only reason we’ve not been able to explore because we need to have the right content”.

Talking about the potential in South Indian cinema, he said, “There can’t be a better example than ‘Baahubali’. The content aside, the success of this film has shown us the strength of the market and how much revenue can be generated from it”. He added, “We have our regional offices in the south. We’re always on the lookout for good content. I think it’s just a matter of time before we enter the south market”.
