    Zanjeer: Bombay High Court says ‘No’ on its release’s interim stay

    It’s now like becoming a trend in Bollywood that every flick will get stuck in a controversy before its release. The latest addition to this segment is Apoorva Lakhia’s Zanjeer. The Bombay High Court has refused to grant an interim stay on the release of the remake of 1973 blockbuster of the same name. The film is presently slated to release on September 6.

    The film is going through legal proceedings as the veteran writers Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar have taken this issue to the court. Salim and Javed say that being the scriptwriters of the 1973-film, starring Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan they held the copyright over the script, dialogues and the story of the flick and deserves compensation of Rs. 6 crores for this. The producers of the remake have agreed to pay the hefty amount if the court asks them to do so.
