Zeeshan Ayyub Couldn't Help Getting Into The Boots Of A Journalist When It Came To Working With Shah Rukh Khan!

For the current generation, actor Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub has revived the relevance of being a sidekick in a Bollywood film. And he couldn’t help getting into the boots of a journalist, when it came to working with Shah Rukh Khan.

Delhi-boy Ayyub, who played the character of Sadiq in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Raees says, “While shooting for the film, one day I interviewed Shah Rukh sir about everything that people say about him from his Delhi days. Jaise sab kete hain his Himalaya pe Yeti rehta hai par kisi ne dekha nahi. Waise hi Dilli me 15 panwari kehte hain ki unki udhari chal rahi hai Shah Rukh Khan pe but kisi ko sach pata nahi. Isliye maine ek din Shah Rukh Khan ko kaha ki aap baitho, mujhe aapse kuch sawaal puchne hain. (Like everyone says there’s Yeti in the Himalayas but no one has seen it, similarly about a 15 paanwallas in Delhi say that Shah Rukh Khan has taken credit from them but there’s no proof. That’s why I asked him to sit down with me one day because I wanted to ask him a few questions). I thought it’s better to have it straight from the horse’s mouth.”

Zeeshan says post his freewheeling conversation with Khan, his respect for the actor has only grown further. “Everyone knows about his (Shah Rukh Khan) journey that how he was a nobody in Delhi, and rose to stardom. But he told me that not many people know that when he started his acting career in Mumbai, he did a lot of art films before shifting to commercial cinema,” he says.

Though the scenario at work became enjoyable, Zeeshan says things weren’t as simple and easy to handle back home. “Earlier, whenever my relatives used to say that they want to meet a particular actor, I used to evade the question or lie to them saying I don’t talk to that person. But when the news broke that I will be acting with Shah Rukh Khan, my wife and mother said: Bakiyon ko chodo abhi sabse pehle hume milwao Shah Rukh se, aur humare saamne tumhara koi bahana nahi chalega (Leave the rest, first make us meet Shah Rukh Khan and none of your accuses will work in front of us).”
