18th Annual Satellite Awards’ nomination list released

18th Annual Satellite Awards’ nomination list released

A huge nomination list for the upcoming 18th season of Annual Satellite Awards has been released by the International Press Academy which is an alternative to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The frontrunners in the list are also the strongest contenders in the Oscar race but five nominations for yet-to-be-released The Wolf of Wall Street indicates at a slight possibility of foreign biasness.

The list is topped by Fox Searchlight's 12 Years a Slave with ten nominations followed by Alfonso Cuaron's Gravity and David O. Russell's American Hustle with eight, Working Title and Ron Howard'sRush with seven and Saving Mr. Banks and Inside Llewyn Davis with six. Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine, Martin Scorsese's Wolf of Wall Street and Captain Phillips have earned five each and Robert Redford-starrer All is Lost is happy with four. The awards ceremony is slated to take place on March 9, 2014. Here is the list of few of the nominations:
