    20th Century Fox acquires rights to Guys and Dolls remake

    The long run has finally come to an end for the movie rights toGuys and Dollsas the deal has been closed by 20thCentury Fox. The studio is looking forward to start their initial production work for the remake of the stage and movie classic and it’s said that Channing Tatum and Joseph-Gordon-Levitt would feature in the negotiations to step into the shoes of the roles originally played by Frank Sinatra and Marlon Brando. Though, no writer and director have been finalised yet.

    So far so many things have come into news regarding the project that the entire world would be eagerly waiting for the project to become realistic as soon as possible. Years ago it was heard that Harvey Weinstein would purchase the rights to the remake withChicagoproducersCraig Zadan and Neil Meron on his board. Likes of Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman and Vin Diesel have been heard to be signed up to play the lead roles. But never the deal was finalised, till date.

    The musical, which took shape from Damon Runyon’s short stories, won the Tony Award for Best Musical when it was premiered in 1950 and it was also honoured with the Pulitzer for Drama in 1951. In 1955 the stage show was adapted into a movie. The deal with the actors would only happen when the script and the director are finalised.
