It seems that Hollywood is in shock after the scandal of one of the top producer, Harvey Weinstein. More than 50 actresses have made sexual misconduct allegations against Harvey Weinstein. Keeping this in mind, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is going to establish a new ”code of conduct” for its members.

The CEO of the Academy, Dawn Hudson was quoted as saying, “Like you, the Academy’s Board of Governors is concerned about sexual harassment and predatory behavior in the workplace, especially in our own industry”. He further added, “We believe our Academy has a role to play in fostering a safe and respectful atmosphere for the professionals who make motion pictures”.

He also stated, “To this end, we are taking steps to establish a code of conduct for our members, which will include a policy for evaluating alleged violations and determining if action regarding membership is warranted”. Miramax co-founder Harvey Weinstein, who was a member of the Academy’s 54-member board, was expelled on October 14.
