Amber Heard may star in 'The Danish Girl'

Amber Heard is reportedly in talks to join Alicia Vikander and Eddie Redmayne in the period drama ‘The Danish Girl,’ the next film from The King’s Speech director Tom Hooper. The screenplay was adapted by Lucinda Coxon, while Gail Mutrux developed the film, which would be produced through her Pretty Pictures banner alongside Anne Harrison and Linda Reisman.

“The Danish girl” is an adaptation of the 2001 David Ebershoff novel about the life of Danish painter Einar Wegener (played by Redmayne), who, in 1931, became the first man to undergo a sex-change operation. Vikander is playing Greta, Wegener’s Californian wife, while Heard is up for the supporting role of Oola. According to sources, Heard was in talks for a part in the film. She recently filmed Magic Mike XXL and her other credits include The Rum Diary, 3 Days to Kill and Drive Angry. The Danish Girl will be Hooper’s follow-up to Les Miserables, which featured Redmayne. It will also reunite the Oscar winner with working title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner.
