Amber Heard Roped In For Aquaman Movie

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that The Danish Girl actress Amber Heard will be playing the role of Mera in the forthcoming Aquaman movie. She will play the love interest of Jason Momoa who will be portraying Aquaman. Mera' first appearance was in 1963 in the comics and later, she went on to become the Queen of Atlantis.

Aquaman was developed by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger in the More Fun Comics #73 in 1941. The character is also known as one of the founding members of the Justice League of America. After the unsuccessful spinoff Mercy Reef, this will the characters first big screen appearance.

Jason Momoa is known for his role in the hit HBO series Game of Thrones. He will also be present in the highly anticipated Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice for the first time as Aquaman. On the other hand Amber’s next project is London Fields where she will share screen space with Cara Delevingne, Theo James and her husband Johnny Depp.
