Andrew Garfield Says It Was No Fun Losing Weight For Silence

Andrew Garfield Says It Was No Fun Losing Weight For Silence

The Social Network star Andrew Garfield’s new look for Martin Scorsese’s drama Silence, might remind you of Christian Bale of The Machinist. Andrew went too much into character and was stubborn to appear as thin as possible onscreen. One asked how he pulled this off, he simply replied by saying, ‘It’s not fun’.

Andrew went on by saying, “But ultimately (it’s) very, very satisfying and fulfilling. You learn a lot of information from emptying out.”  The British actor went on, “I think it has to be (startling).” Co star Adam Driver said, “It’s the truth of what these guys would have gone through.”

Both the actors were so damn serious that they locked themselves and starved by enduring a stint at a silent Jesuit retreat in Wales to prepare for the shoot. They added that they were fascinated by the spiritual exploration and were totally fascinated by it.
