Andrew Garfield's 'I Am Gay' Comment Attracts Criticism From Social Media

Andrew Garfield’s comment that he is “a gay man right now just without the physical act” have not gone down well on social media.

Speaking during an NT Platform discussion on Monday, Garfield said he prepared for his role in Tony Kushner’s Angels in America, in which he plays a gay man battling AIDS in the ‘80s by watching RuPaul’s Drag Race.

“My only time off during rehearsals – every Sunday I would have eight friends over and we would just watch Ru. This is my life outside of this play. I am a gay man right now just without the physical act – that’s all,” he said.
