The news has surfaced that Megan Ellison’s brother David Ellison, owner of Skydance Productions, will fund two-third portion of the project while rest will be financed by Paramount Pictures. David announced in a statement, “Skydance Productions focuses on elevated event-level film making and the relaunch of this iconic franchise is a perfect match for our company. I’m grateful to Megan, who will remain involved as an executive producer, and for initially bringing the Terminator franchise to us.”
The movie directed by Alan Taylor, will have Emilia Clarke and Jason Clarke in important characters of Sarah and John Connor. Arnold Schwarzenegger will reprise his role as the Terminator. Dana Goldberg and Paul Schwake will serve as executive producers, whereas Laeta Kalorgridis and Patrick Lussier are attached to the project as screenplay writers. Terminator: Genesis is scheduled for July 1 release next year.
