Anne Hathaway Might Replace Amy Schumer In Barbie

Sony Pictures is working on developing 'Barbie' which initially starred Amy Schumer as the lead. But, earlier this year, the actress-comedian had to bow out of the project because of schedule issues. Now, it has been reported that the studio is looking towards Anne Hathaway for the role, though no official offer has been made yet.

It is also being said that Fun Mom Dinner director, Alethea Jones, will helm the project. As we all know, Mattle’s Barbie is the most popular doll which holds a lot of value for women in society as it shows that they can achieve anything. The first Barbie toy line was launched back in 1959.

The screenplay for the flick has been finalized by Schumer and her sister Kim Caramele, who worked off the script by Hilary Winston. Walter F. Parkes, Laurie MacDonald and Amy Pascal are producing the project. ‘Barbie’ will hit the screens on June 29 next year.
