Anupam Kher nominated for Screen Actors Guild Award

In a big achievement,desiveteran star Anupam Kher has been nominated for the Screen Actors Guild. According to reports, Kher’s latest Hollywood venture,Silver Linings Playbook, has been nominated in the Best Ensemble category at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, which means it's a nomination for all the leading actors including, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, Chris Tucker, Jackie Weaver and Anupam Kher.

Reacting to the news, Anupam said, "I was hopeful, but did not expect this - even if it is an A-list cast, only the main actors are usually nominated. The film already had solo nominations, but one can really never expect anything out there - but the fact is that these are Guild awards, and that means the actors vote for each other. And therefore, just being nominated means a big recognition for me. It means I've earned the respect of many within Hollywood.”

In the meantime, Ang Lee'sLife of Pi,in which all the lead stars are Indian including Suraj Sharma, Irfan Khan, Ayush Tandon and Tabu, is leading the nomination list at Golden Globes Awards. The film will battle it out with Steven Spielberg's presidential biopicLincolnfor best film drama at this year's Golden Globes.

The veteran filmmaker has taken an early lead in the annual race which climaxes with the Oscars in February, with Globe nominations including the key categories of best drama, best director and best actor.
