Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams Join New Mutants Cast

For quite some time now, it was being speculated that Anya Taylor-Joy of Split fame and Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams will be part of the upcoming ‘New Mutants’ flick. Now, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed this news, making the duo’s involvement in the project official. Anya will be playing the role of Magik while Maisie will play Wolfsbane.

The speculations about their characters had been going on for a year now, ever since director Josh Boone shared an image on Twitter showing Williams as Wolfsbane. Earlier this year, Anya also spoke about her opportunity to join ‘New Mutants’ as Magik. She was also optimistic about getting to work with James McAvoy again, after ‘Split’.

‘New Mutants’ is also based on the comic series by the same name. Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod were the creators of the franchise which tells the tale of teenage mutants who are training to use their powers for the good of mankind. The flick will hit theatres on April 13, next year.
