James Cameron’s ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’ garnered positive reviews from critics as well as audiences when it hit theatres in 1991. The movie starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Robert Patrick and Edward Furlong in the lead roles. Well, Arnold’s fans can hold their breaths because their ideal is set to be seen once again as the science fiction action-thriller will be re-released in 3D in 2017.

The new release date was shared on the Terminator 2 (T2) Facebook page. The caption written alongside a poster read, “August 29th 1997: The day Skynet first became self aware. August 29th 2016: the day you first saw the brand new poster for Terminator 2 in 3D. Coming to theaters in 2017”.

The post was showered with comments from fans about how excited they were with the announcement. Cameron has been trying to convert the movie into 3D for years. Last year, the filmmaker announced that the 3D conversion was actually happening.
