Last month, it was reported that the sequel of epic science fiction blockbuster film ‘Avatar’ will release on Christmas 2017. The reports have turned out to be false.  ‘Avatar 2’ won’t hit the theatres screen on Christmas next year.

According to reports, Twentieth Century Fox has not officially announced the release date of the flick. Last month, director James Cameron said that the team will finish the second instalment by the end of 2017. Sources close to the film’s unit claim that the production preparation has delayed the venture. Soundstage construction and some computer animation are still in early stages.

Reportedly, the date for filming the second part has also been not set. The director recently hinted that the flick may be set on a moon of the planet Pandora and underwater. Speculations are rife that three sequels will be filmed one after another and then will be released with a year’s gap each. Sigourney Weaver, who played the role of Dr. Grace Augustine in the first part, will be part of the second film as well, but will play a new character.
