Baywatch Gets A Release Date

The release date of the much awaited Baywatch, starring Indian actress Priyanka Chorpra has been announced. Reportedly, the movie will hit the screens on May 19, 2017.  Paramount Pictures has stated that the principal photography of the film has begun.

As per an announcement made by American studio, Jeremy Garelick directorial will be shot in Savannah and Miami. Baywatch has an eclectic star cast. It involves Zac Efron and Dwayne Johnson. Priyanka will be seen in a negative role in the film adaptation of the 1990s popular TV series by the same name. The venture is being produced by the makers of its TV series, Michael Berk, Doug Schwartz and Greg Bonann. Viacom18 Motion Pictures has bagged the rights for the movie’s release in India.

Reportedly, actress Pamela Anderson who became the break-out star of the TV series was offered a role in the film adaptation. But, the 48-year-old actress has turned down the offer saying she didn’t like the story line. The actress told the media, “I haven’t turned it down completely yet, but I have turned down what they offered me. We’ll see what happens”. Pamela added, “Baywatch was such a huge part of my life and really they’re trying to do an homage and, you know, it’s an honor to have them want me to be a part of it so bad”.
