Back in 2009, actor-director Ben Affleck founded Eastern Congo Initiative (ECI), which is an organization responsible for working with the people of eastern Congo. It takes over several projects, one of which is providing hearing aids to those who have been in war torn areas. For this, ECI partnered up with Starkey Hearing Foundation which provides hearing aids to people in the US and around the world.

When the actor was handed the award, he shared that working with the Congolese people was one of the most awe-inspiring experiences of his life. With these annual events, Starkey Hearing Foundation is able to raise millions of dollars for the betterment of the society. This time, the event saw performances by Steven Tyler and Darius Rucker.

On the work front, Affleck was last seen in ‘Live By Night’ which was directed by him. He will next be seen in Zack Snyder’s ‘Justice League’ releasing on November 17 where he will reprise his role as Batman. The actor is also working on his solo Batman film which is being directed by Matt Reeves.
