    The upcoming superhero film Guardians of the Galaxy, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team, has got a new acting talent in its casting couch. The Academy Award-winner Benicio del Toro has joined the ensemble cast of Guardians of the Galaxy.

    Toro’s role has not been revealed yet for the film. While the journey of the actors of Marvel’s films seems to be never-ending, Toro will also star in a series of films in the franchise, hereafter. The film has already signed up the likes of Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Glenn Close, John C. Reilly and Dave Bautista along with Karen Gillan, who would play the female villain in the film.

    Directed by James Gunn, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the flick will be released on August 1, 2014. The movie is all about a U.S. pilot who has been trapped amid a universal conflict. He shares a new bond with a group of ex-cons from other planets. Del Toro will be seen next in Jimmy P, which was premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
