Beverly Hills Cop 4 may finally find its way to the big screen. According to deadline, the fourth instalment of the comedy franchise is moving forward with star Eddie Murphy. The movie has also found its directors in Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah-the Belgian writer-directors behind Toronto Film Festival Discovery Award–winning movie Black.

Eddie Murphy will reprise the role of street-smart Axel Foley, who returns to his native Detroit. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows writers Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec will write the script. "They're still trying to get that script right. I'm not doing a 'Beverly Hills Cop' unless they have a really incredible script," Murphy told Rolling Stone magazine.

The first film grossed a whopping $316.4 million with a budget of $15 million in 1984. Two years later, the second film fared nearly as well, earning $300 million at the box office. The latest film will have to make up for "Beverly Hills Cop 3," which was released in 1994 and made only $42 million.

Beverly Hills Cop IV will begin production late this year or in early 2017. The film was once slated to be released in 2016, but it was removed from Paramount's release schedule in 2015. A new date for the film has not yet been announced.
