    Bieber show will push traffic on Mumbai-Pune expressway, plan your road commute better today

    The police have made special arrangements to monitor vehicles on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway today as thousands of people from Pune and other cities of Maharashtra are coming for Canadian popstar Justin Bieber’s show at DY Patil stadium at Nerul.

    The Canadian popstar will perform at the stadium as a part of the Asia leg of his world tour.

    Nitin Pawar, deputy commissioner of police of Navi Mumbai traffic department, said, “Most fans will take the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. We will deploy traffic policemen to ensure smooth traffic flow.”


    “We have also discussed the show with Raigad and Pune police and have sought their cooperation. If need be, we will divert the traffic at some places,” said another senior officer from the police commissioner’s office.

    A Delhi-based company White Fox is managing the event. More than 50,000 people are expected to attend the concert.

    A crime branch official said, “Almost all senior officers from city zone I and II are at work. Week-offs of several officials have been cancelled . Riot control police (RCP) platoons,too, have been deployed.”

    A source from the stadium told Hindustan Times they have arranged for a medical team for providing services in case of an emergency.
