Billy Bob Thornton Returning As The Bad Santa

Bad Santa 2 has finally been announced by Miramax and Broad Green Pictures. Adding to the excitement was the return of Billy Bob Thornton as Willie Soke. The original Bad Santa was released in 2003 and told the story of a conman and his partner who dressed up as Santa and his helper to rob department stores.

Miramax’s EVP of Film & TV Zanne Devine stated, “We’ve been waiting far too long to see Billy Bob’s Willie Soke mess with the holiday season in his own unique way. We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Billy Bob, the entire creative and producing team, and Broad Green and Sierra/Affinity to bring back the outrageous humor and characters that made this movie brand iconic in the first place”. The movie will be produced by Geyer Kosinski.

Gabriel Hammond, CEO of Broad Green Pictures and Daniel Hammond said, “Bad Santa has been a part of our family holiday tradition ever since we all saw it together at our neighbourhood theatre. We are excited to bring this memorable character and new chapter back to the big screen”. The principal photography for the film is expected to begin in January 2016.
