Bryan Singer Replaced By Dexter Fletcher To Direct 'Bohemian Rhapsody'

Not Bryan Singer, but Dexter Fletcher will now direct Queen frontman Freddie Mercury's biopic 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. Fletcher is popular for directing ‘Eddie the Eagle’, which Fox distributed and ‘Wild Bill’. Dexter will start working on the film from next week in London.

It is being reported that Fox fired Singer due to his non availability on the film’s sets. Bryan went on a leave to take care of parents which caused a halt in the production. In Bryan’s absence, cinematographer Thomas Newton Sigel directed on some of the days.

The movie has been produced by Graham King, Singer, and Jim Beach, Queen’s longtime manager. Rami Malek, who starred in ‘Mr. Robot’, will be playing the lead role of Freddie Mercury, the frontman for Queen, while actor Tom Hollander will play Jim Beach. Ben Hardy will essay the role of a drummer Roger Taylor, Gwilym Lee will portray lead guitarist Brian May and Joe Mazzello will play bass guitarist John Deacon. The flick also has Lucy Boynton, who will play the role of Mary Austin, the lifelong companion of Mercury.
