Can You Guess Which Oscar Nominee Sent Their Cardboard Cutout For The Group Photo?
The Academy on Monday had their annual nominees luncheon in honour of all those who have been nominated for Oscars at the 90th Academy Awards. As per the norm, the nominees posed together for a group photograph as the batch of 2018, with one notable addition - filmmaker Agnes Varda, who could not make it to the event, so she sent a cardboard cutout of herself instead.
Shortly afterwards, several people on Twitter noticed the cutout of Agnes Varda - the legendary French filmmaker, 89, who became the oldest Oscar nominee for her documentary, Faces Places.

There were several images floating around the internet of other nominees such as Meryl Streep and Greta Gerwig posing with the cardboard cutout.
The Oscars will be held on March 4 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. It will be aired in India live on Star Movies and Star Movies Select on March 5.

Agnès Varda sent a cardboard cutout of herself to the Oscar nominees lunch, and it's perhaps the most Varda thing that could have happened. #OscarsLunch #Oscars pic.twitter.com/N1OICA4zE5
