Cannes 2013: High profile burglary happens again; Inside Llewyn Davis gets warm response

It was a bad day for China Film Group vice president Zhang Qiang at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival. He lost all his luggage and possession from his rented apartment at Pierre & Vacances Cannes Beach Residence and tweeted in agony, “This film festival is not worth mentioning!”

Later he refused to take part in the press conference with Keanu Reeves for the actor’s directorial debut Man of Tai Chi. This is the second time burglary at Cannes after around $1 million in Chopard jewellery was stolen from an employee's room at the Suite Novotel Cannes Centre. But life has to go on and so does the festival. On Sunday night Inside Llewyn Davis’ premiere helped Oscar Isaac win wide appreciation for his extraordinary performance in the Joel-Ethan Coen's film.

Apart from Isaac, who plays a struggling folk singer in the film, the cast also includes Justin Timberlake, Carey Mulligan and Garrett Hedlund with music by T-Bone Burnett. Isaac also received a standing ovation along with the energetic shouts of “bravo”. The Coen brothers also got a warm reception at the red carpet. The red carpet was also graced by the likes of Nicole Kidman, her husband Keith Urban, Christoph Waltz, Lynne Ramsay, Daniel Auteuil, Cristian Mungiu and jury president Steven Spielberg.
