Charlize Theron Confirmed For Fast 8

Since quite some time, reports of Charlize Theron’s involvement with the next instalment of the Fast and Furious franchise have been coming in. Now, it has been confirmed that the Mad Max actress will be playing the lead antagonist in the film. The movie is being directed by F. Gary Gray who has previously worked with the actress in the 2003 film ‘The Italian Job’.

Fast 8 will be the first of the final trilogy in the long running franchise. Returning for the film will be Vin Diesel, Jordana Brewster, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Michelle Rodriguez and Tyrese Gibson. It was recently announced that Game of Thrones actor Kristofer Hivju will also be joining the cast. He will be playing the role of Charlize’s henchman.

Fast 8 will be released on April 14 next year, followed by the ninth part on April 19, 2019 and the tenth film on April 2, 2021. You’d thing that 10 instalments in a series would be enough but, Universal begs to differ. The studio plans to make prequels as well as spinoffs for the franchise.
