Chinese Actress Liu Yifei To Star In 'Mulan'

Good News for all the Disney fans! It has finalized the lead actress for the upcoming live-action movie ‘Mulan’. Back in 1998, Disney released an animated movie with the same title ‘Mulan’. The movie was about a young girl who joins the army as a boy in disguise after learning that her weak father has to join the army.

The lead actress of the upcoming live-action movie with the same title is Chinese actress Liu Yifei. It is being said that the casting directors from Disney visited five continents and saw nearly 1,000 candidates before finalising on Crystal Liu. The role is said to require credible martial arts skills, the ability to speak English and star quality.

The upcoming movie will depict a warrior woman disguised as a man to take her father’s place in army. The movie will have a backdrop of fifth-century China. ‘Mulan’ is helmed by Niki Caro and is slated to release in 2019.
