    Hollywood actor Chris Hemsworth has recently revealed that he was astounded when he was offered to feature in the war film 12 Strong. The film directed by Nicolai Fuglsig is based on the non-fiction book Horse Soldiers written by Doug Stanton. Chris Hemsworth stars as the retired Special Forces Captain Mitch Nelson in the film.



    Talking about the same, the actor said, “I was as shocked as anyone else - one I did not know about the story, two that it was true and just the details as to what these guys achieved in this mission”. He further added, “12 guys who went into Afghanistan, 3 weeks after 9/11 and they took back the country from Taliban, al-Qaeda while working with the local Afghan people who are fighting them. So yeah pretty spectacular story”.



    Meanwhile, the story revolves around CIA paramilitary officers and US Special Forces who were sent to Afghanistan immediately after the September 11 attacks. The actor revealed that he felt the story was spectacular, which is the reason for him venturing into the project. It has also been learned that the actor was specially trained along with the US Special Forces while preparing for the role. Meanwhile, the movie released in India on January 19.
