Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt is set to lead in the Universal Pictures bootlegging action-adventure The Real McCoy. Tom McNulty will produce the project alongside Michael De Luca. Bill Dubuque, who previously wrote "The Judge", penned the script for the project.

The film will be based on the real life bootlegger Bill McCoy, a boat builder and sea captain who became a rum runner during Prohibition after he and his brother fell on hard times. Smuggling whiskey from the Bahamas to the East Coast of the United States, McCoy prided himself in never paying protection money to organized crime, politicians or law enforcement.

Pratt, who performed outstanding in leading man for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, will next be seen in Jurassic World opening June 12.
