The Fighter’s Oscar winning actor Christian Bale is the first choice of The Social Network helmer David Fincher when it comes to the casting of Steve Jobs movie for Sony. The film is being produced by Scott Rudin and Mark Gordon along with Film 360's Guymon Casady. Gordon’s representative refused to comment on the latest revelation and Sony denied issuing any statement too. Even Bale’s spokesperson declined to respond immediately. It has been learnt that Fincher visited Sony’s Amy Pascal to discuss the probabilities of getting into the board of the film as its director and presented his condition that if Bale plays Jobs then only he will sign the deal. Earlier, during the making of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Fincher and Pascal went through a tense relationship but Pascal is believed to be an admirer of Fincher because of his filmmaking abilities.
An insider has revealed that Pascal always tries to keep Fincher happy. On the other hand Pascal also shares a good relationship with Bale after their American Hustle emerged as a huge success. Though the film on Steve Jobs has a long way to go on the floors, Bale seems to be the first choice to play the tech icon as the project was conceptualized keeping him in mind because of his resemblance to the Apple co-founder. Bale has not been approached for the role yet as he is undergoing a brief break post his completion of filming Exodus as Moses which has a huge chance to bring him back in the awards sessions. This Sony movie will be adapted from Walter Isaacson's bestselling authorized biography of Steve Jobs. Production for the film is likely to begin from this year-end or early 2015.
