    Christopher Nolan Visits China For 'Dunkirk'

    Hollywood director Christopher Nolan is flying to China to support his critically acclaimed WWII drama 'Dunkirk'. Reports say that the filmmaker is going to visit Beijing to take part in a press conference in the Chinese capital on August 21. This will also mark the filmmaker’s first trip to Beijing.

    Nolan has a good rapport and a solid track record in the Middle Kingdom. All of his films released in China have performed well. Interstellar, which was a 2014 film earned $122 million in China, The Dark Knight Rises, despite clashing with The Amazing Spider-Man pulled in $53 and Inception in 2010 earned $68 million. Further, the local premiere of Dunkirk will be held on August 22.

    Meanwhile, 'Dunkirk' has done pretty well in North America, earning 156.3 million USD and 210.5 million USD overseas for a worldwide total collection of 366.8 million USD. The movie is said to open wide in China on September 1 and in Japan on September 9. Nolan will also pass through Japan for a promotion of the film shortly after his China trip.
