Captain America might be facing severe competition from the other Avengers but there was a clear winner at the box office. Anthony and Joe Russo’s ‘Captain America: Civil War’ has dominated the box office with its $181 million opening. The movie stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, along with others. It also introduces Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther. The worldwide earnings for the film have reached $678 million.

Jon Favreau’s 'The Jungle Book' pooled in $21 million on its fourth weekend. The classic Mowgli tale has grossed $776 million worldwide. It’s amazing to see Civil War come so close to 'The Jungle Book' in just one weekend. The Jennifer Aniston starrer ‘Mother's Day’ saw a $9 million second weekend, sending its overall earnings to $20.7 million worldwide.

Quite far behind were the competitors ‘The Huntsman: Winter's War’ and ‘Keanu’. The former brought in $3.5 million, running on its third weekend while the latter earned a close $3.08 million on its second weekend. 'Captain America: Civil War' clearly dominated the weekend collections. Let’s hope the streak continues.
