Colin Trevorrow Planning Trilogy For Jurassic World?

After the success of last year’s ‘Jurassic World’, it was quite obvious that there will be a sequel. The movie, directed by Colin Trevorrow, made $1.6 billion at the global box office and starred Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins and Nick Robinson. Last year, it was announced that the movie will be getting a sequel but it seems like Colin has bigger plans for the franchise.

J.A. Bayona, who will be directing the sequel to the hit film, was recently present at the Toronto International Film Festival where he was promoting his film ‘A Monster Calls’. Talking to media, the director shared, “We’re very into Jurassic World right now. It’s very exciting. [Original director] Colin Trevorrow has envisioned a whole trilogy of films. Very ambitious. And we’re writing the second chapter, working very close together”.

He also spoke about the upcoming sequel and said that it is very exciting. Without revealing any details about the project, Bayona said that the audiences have given them permission to take the project to the next level. He shared that this can be an opportunity to expand on the storyline and build a relationship with the animals.

The sequel to Jurassic World is set for a 2018 release and Chris Pratt is expected to return as the protagonist.
