Artist Patrick Janicke has revealed first concept art for Steven Spielberg’s forthcoming sci-fi drama. The art shows some hi-tech robots and weapons. 49-year-old Patrick is responsible for vehicle, props and architectural designs for Stargate, Blade, Godzilla, Speed Racer and Transformers.

The concept art has three full fledged robots and what looks like a helper droid with a stethoscope and blood pressure device. Two of the robots have a humanoid structure while the third has tank tracks – sort of – for limbs. It also shows some kind of a weapon with possibly a pressure meter.

Robopocalypse is being directed by Steven Spielberg and written by Drew Goddard and Steven himself. It is based on a novel by Daniel H. Wilson. Supposedly, Chris Hemsworth, Anne Hathaway and Ben Whishaw will be starring in the movie. The movie was pushed back to development status in 2013, with no update for it.  On this, Steven said, “I found another way to tell the story. I had an epiphany and I only have had these a couple of time [sic] during the course of my work and whenever those voices occur, I need to listen to them. I found another way to tell the story, it’s a much more personal story for me. I let my cast and crew go make other movies, while I take a half a year to get it to the place that I need it”.
